UPDATED NEWS (most recent update: 12/03/2005)

To keep them easy to read the News are updated on a regular basis. Update date is mentioned after the News title.

12/03/2005: THIS IS THE END, MY FRIEND!

Since quite some time now, my new job consumed most of my time (with many travels to Asia) and I have not been able to update this site as I would have liked. Nevertheless the LotR TMG has still been quite active (for example in France we have organized the 2nd French National last October during a major Gaming Event and our Belgium friends are actively preparing a European Championship for March 2006). We still organize tournaments in shops and recently introduced on-line tournaments. If you are speaking French, you can visit our Forum: Forum de Laurhidil. And with the announcement of the closing of the LotR TMG Sabertooth forum, we are now considering to open either a new English speaking forum or at least an English section in the French forum.

The reason why Sabertooth is closing the LotR Forum is of course linked to the end of the game. Return of the King that has been recently released is the last expansion to the LotR TMG. We are sad, especially as testing already took place for cool figures that we will never see (Shelob, Tom Bombadil, etc.), but probably we were not enough out there to make it economically viable for Sabertooth to continue (or maybe that GW finally realized that this was somewhat cannibalizing their more lucrative business).

To help you manage your collection we have released what should be the last version of Samwise (unless some unexpected bugs will make an update necessary). This version includes all the figures published by Sabertooth: SAMWISE.

01/12/2005: 3D TERRAIN BY THE GENIUS

The Genius explains how he created an impressive 3D Terrain: text and pictures are available in the Gallery section.

01/10/2005: SAURON IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!

Many players complained that Sauron was not up to par with his reputation, especially at a record cost of 2000 points. Sure the Dark Master could be used in very large games (10000 points) but he fell too easily in more frequent 2000-3000 point games. Sabertooth listened to the fans and came up with a solution:
 - Sauron can't be the target of a ranged attack,
 - Sauron is immune to Ward.

Sauron will be a more formidable than ever enemy in large games but we should see him now in smaller games, even though 2000 point games will still be difficult for him, in the same way that 1000 point games are difficult for Red FE Saruman or 1500 point games for the Balrog or Gandalf.

Tournament Rules 3.1.1 are available in the Download section. A web version with hyperlinks is also available.

01/06/2005: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH DAVID FREEMAN!

Eight months after a first interview with Captain Miller (Interview with Captain Miller), the new LotR TMG chief designer, David Freeman gave us an interview where he explains how he joined STG, what is the typical development cycle for a LotR TMG new product and how he trusts his feelings when designing new figures: Interview with David Freeman.

12/23/2004: JUST IN TIME FOR XMAS!

The Balrog, the Two Towers and the Dice Pack made it to the US and European stores in time for Xmas!

10/07/2004: THEY ARE NO BIG BEN!

Unfortunately The Two Towers won't be right on time! The expansion is postponed to January, as explained today by Sabertooth.

"The release of Two Towers has unfortunately been pushed to January due to a production problem. The proofs provided by the manufacturer in China did not match the production test figures that were coming off the line. The plastic strength differed, causing serious issues with the exciting new cavalry figures introduced in the set.
Sabertooth refused to release a inferior product and opted to delay the release, and assure you get the high quality figures that you have come to expect from us.
Two Towers will now join our jam-packed 2005 release schedule, joining Return of the King and several exciting unannounced Lord of the Rings: Tradable Miniature Game products!
We do apologize for this unforeseeable delay and any inconvenience it has caused"
.  Sabertooth Games

It's hard to wait for two more months to put our hands on the Riders but let's give credit to Sabertooth for making the right choice. Others could have been tempted to take their chance in order not to miss the holiday season. If you ever bought a PC game released in a hurry and full of bugs, you know what it means!

10/05/2004: A GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE! (updated 10/07/2004, TT delay)

What did we see in our Palantír?

The Balrog arrives in December with a 1500 point Gandalf and a die! In December we will also get the Dice Pack.

The Two Towers expansion is now planned for late January. It will have 84 new figures that will be in boosters of 3: 1 mounted model and 2 other figures.

The Path of the Dead in February with 15 new figures in Boosters of 1!

In March a special Premium Line pack with a Nazgul on a Fellbeast, Eowyn and a die! What makes it so special? One Nazgul out of 6 will be a Witch-King!!!

The third expansion in planned April: Return of the King with 84 new figures also in boosters of 3 (including 1 mounted figure).

In May another special Premium Line pack! This one will have a Mordor Troll, Aragorn and a die. One Troll out of 6 will be an Olog-hai!!!

Now, you know that the Palantír is a stone of seeing, not a calendar, so some of the above may change. But for sure it looks fantastic!

  09/17/2004: ALL ABOUT DICE

The Two Tower expansion boosters will have new dice: Two Tower red with the two headed symbol of Rohan in gold. As for the Fellowship dice, there will be a rare jeweled version.

And just in case you want more dice you'll love the Dice Set 1 to be released in December in tin boxes with 4 Cave Troll dice, 3 jeweled Sauron dice and 1 "Glow in the Dark" Path of the Dead die!

Sabertooth didn't make a Path of the Dead dice just for a dice set, did they (wink, nudge, nudge)?

09/16/2004: NEW TOURNAMENT RULES (updated 10/06/2004, SA card)

Tournament Rules 3.0 are available in the Download section. They contain clarifications that are useful for home games and mandatory for Tournament games. A web version with hyperlinks is also available.

This release is a major one.
A few rules have been edited to address some balance issues, especially regarding Line of Sight and Archers.

A Special Ability card compliant with TR 3.0 is available in the Download section.

  09/15/2004: NEW DELUXE STARTER SET

Aimed at attracting new players, the Deluxe Starter Set will contain the former Starter Set, 2 Base Set boosters and Map Set 1 at a very attractive price. It should be available at the same time as the Two Towers Expansion Set (mid November).

  09/12/2004: TWO TOWERS PREVIEW!

Sabertooth presented many prototypes of the Two Towers expansion as well as the Balrog.

Many thanks to Red Ranger of Rhuduar, Ken and François for their pictures!

  07/26/2004: NEW TOURNAMENT FORMATS!

Jinxx is shifting to high gear! Only a few weeks after joining STG he is offering to the Scout Community new Tournament formats. Here is the announcement from Sabertooth...

Scenario Events - We will be creating new scenarios for you to play. Each month will introduce new rules and offer great prize support! These events should be the gaming highlight of every month. These kits include the newest promo figs and mail in participation forms.

Minion Madness and Hero Showdown - These two new format types will restrict your army building to only minions or heroes. These kits include 6 different promo figures.

Sealed Events - Signing up for a sealed event gives you even better prize support than a standard tournament. Additional figures will be included for running a sealed tournament making this format both good for buying miniatures and collecting more promo’s! Sealed events include 4 miniatures instead of 2 that standard kits have. These kits also include mail in participation forms.

Standard Tournaments - We will continue to let you run standard tournaments and make up your own formats. These kits will include the prize support you have grown to know and love. These kits also include mail in participation forms.

07/13/2004: COLLECTION MANAGEMENT TOOL (SAMWISE VERSION 3.30)

This Excel tool developed by Laurhidil is designed to help you manage your collection.

Summaries detail how many figures are included in your collection and how many are still missing. All figure stats are listed including the Base Set, the Premium Line (Troll Pack, Sauron), the Fellowship expansion and the Base Set and Fellowship Promos.

It is very easy to list figures available for trade and figures still wanted.

This version provides also a tool to help selecting Armies.

The file is available in the Download section once you have answered a brief questionnaire.

  07/07/2004: ROTK PLAYTESTING STARTS!

Sabertooth's new chief designer Dave Freeman has announced the launching of a test program for the third expansion of the game.

This test focuses on Return of the King and introduces more mounted figures and a new struggle for the One Ring.

Participants will be able to win credits and rewards. Another opportunity to shape the future of your favorite game! Check the details here: Play testing open again

This playtesting phase ended on August 2nd. We will have to wait until the mid of next year to see this expansion in stores. In the meantime we'll have the 2nd expansion (The Two Towers).

07/07/2004: US NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT ORIGINS 2004

The 2004 LotR TMG US Championship took place at Origins 2004 in Colombus Ohio.
Thanks to TheFoeHammer we have pictures from the event: Origins 2004!

  07/07/2004: THE NEW PROMOS!

Here is the list of Promos related to the Fellowship set. Once we know how they are going to be available we will mention it. There are 6 Minions so we can expect them to be tournament participation promos. It means 3 "seasons", that's about 6 months (this is consistent as the next expansion is planned for end of October). Therefore 6 Heroes are probably going to be tournament prize promos. This leaves 4 Heroes that may end up in special events (conventions), magazine mail-ins (such as the ones with Scrye or Undefeated) and maybe as redemption promos.

We already know that Season 1 Promos are going to be PR40 Haldir and PR32 Twilight Ringwraith!

Base Set Season 1 Tournament Prize Promos (PR5 Lurtz and PR27 Legolas) are now available as part of the Redemption program! This is great if you didn't get a chance to win one of the early tournaments!

PR30 Saruman
PR31 Saruman
PR32 Twilight Ringwraith (Season 1 Tournament Prize)
PR33 Twilight Witch King
PR34 Twilight Witch King
PR35 Moria Goblin Fighter
PR36 Uruk-Hai
PR37 Uruk-Hai Soldier
PR38 Galadriel
PR39 Galadriel
PR40 Haldir (Season 1 Tournament Prize)
PR41 Isildur
PR42 Elendil
PR43 High Elf Swordsman
PR44 Lothlorien Elf Warrior
PR45 Numenorian Warrior

  07/07/2004: REVISED UNOFFICIAL RELEASE CALENDAR

We had to wait longer than expected to get the Troll Pack. Then the Fellowship expansion arrived almost as planned and Sauron arrived even earlier than expected (at least in the US). So what's next? Here is a partially unofficial release calendar. Some release dates are our educated guess...

July Sauron with a die (already released in the US)

August Map set 2 (4 maps; with 2 sets you can have a large 2x2 map)

September Treebeard with Merry, Pippin and a die

Early November The Two Towers expansion (2 figures, 1 mounted figure and 1 die per booster)

December The Balrog with a die

Here are 2 very nice pictures of the Dark Lord himself taken by Leardinoth

  05/31/2004: COMPLETE COLLECTION PICTURES

As we wait for the release of the "Fellowship" expansion, here are some pictures of the complete current collection including promos and the Troll pack.

Pictures are available in a dedicated Gallery page: Collection.

05/21/2004: THE FELLOWSHIP IS COMING! (updated 06/16/2004: new pictures)

On its way to our shops the Fellowship first stop is in Philippines!

HB sent us the first pictures of the LotR expansion.
They are in a dedicated preview section of the Gallery. Enjoy!

The Fellowship booster die is green with a green leaf symbol. There is also a scarcest jeweled version

  05/07/2004: THE RULES OF WAR!

The objective of this variant of the LotR TMG rules is to provide guidelines for players who want to have huge games on multiple maps.

These rules compiled by Sean “Da Black Gobo” are the result of the contributions of many suggestions by the players on a dedicated thread of the Sabertooth Forum. They are available in the Game Resources part of the Download section.

05/06/2004: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH CAPTAIN MILLER!

In an exclusive interview Captain Miller comes back on the reasons for his career change and on the days he spent with Sabertooth, designing wonderful products: Interview with Captain Miller.

  05/06/2004: CAPTAIN MILLER'S NEW ADVENTURE

It came as a shock! Captain Miller is leaving Sabertooth!

When we learned the news we thought that his good work probably attracted some big game company, this would have been well deserved. Even though we couldn't picture Captain Miller leaving such a nice company as Sabertooth for a competitor.

Then we saw the announcement in a thread of the Sabertooth forum called "Ryan's Announcement"

"Hi all,
As most of you know, Sabertooth is moving to Memphis. After much deliberation, I have decided to stay here in Seattle, to pursue a career in law enforcement, hopefully with the Seattle Police Department. My last day at Sabertooth will be this Friday, May 7th.
It's something I've been considering for some time now, and I feel that the move is a good time for me to make the decision. I'm really excited about this new phase of my life. I was an MP back in my army days and I miss serving in uniform. I really like helping people, and the sense of fulfillment that comes with it. Plus I love having lots of great beer stories!
I'm still going to be involved with the company on an advisory level, so you haven't gotten rid of me yet. Let me tell you, these past 3 years have been a blast!! I've wanted to be a game designer ever since I was 13, and I never thought I'd get to do something like this for a living. I'm going to miss my coworkers, some of the most dedicated and fun people in the industry.
My thanks to Luke Peterschmidt, for getting me started. Thanks to Bob Watts for taking a chance on me. Thanks to Steve Horvath for being a great friend who also happened to be my boss. Thanks to the gang at Sabertooth, for making me forget what "real work" was like.
My thanks to you all, for making this one hell of a ride".

Captain Miller

It does take quite some guts to move from the comfort of virtual tabletop battles to the darn too real fight against crime in the streets of Seattle.

We'll miss the game designer, now your color is going to be blue and it will make you special, like the blue version of our Heroes.

Take care Captain!

04/12/2004: CAVE TROLL SET PREVIEW (updated 04/30/2004, Troll)

Sabertooth gives us a first preview at the Cave Troll Set that comes with 3 Heroes: Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas.

First preview: an exciting new version of Aragorn:
Leadership, Initiative (0), Fast Strike (1), Courage (0) for 440 points.

The new version of Gimli not only has 2 axes but also has twice the Berserker Special Ability, providing the Dwarf Hero +2 attacks per adjacent enemy. At 320 points Gimli also has Battle Awareness (0).

An exciting new version of Legolas! Yes, he has only one Shooting die, but with Arrow Flurry twice and 2 Action Points he can go up to 4 dice. Crack Shot allows him to use his 5 Movement Points before or after Shooting. His 3 Attack dice and Toughness 5 make him a well rounded Hero for only 225 points.

Last but not least, the star of the set: The Cave Troll! This figure is a Minion, this mean you can have more than one in your army! This is an impressive model! 5 Wounds, 7 Action Points, 5 attacks for 350 points. And nice Special Abilities! Dread and Berserker apply to all adjacent enemies (and with a 4 hex base there can be up to 12 adjacent figures). Regeneration allows the Troll to recover Wounds on a 4+ on a die.
The Troll also has the "Large" SA. Kill zone include all of the 12 adjacent hexes, the Troll does not have to stop when entering an enemy Kill Zone (but is still subject to a Free Attack for leaving a Kill Zone), the Troll can convert as many critical hit and glancing blow he wants in a round, non large models don't block LOS from an to the Troll, the Troll block LOS from model on elevated terrain, The Troll LOS has an arc of 360°, the Troll do not benefit from elevated terrain bonuses.

  04/07/2004: NEW MAP!

The Bridge of Khazad-dûm, a map designed by Kampolak, available in the Download Section.

03/24/2004: NEW TOURNAMENT RULES (version 2.5)

Tournament Rules 2.5 are available in the Download section. They contain clarifications that are useful for home games and mandatory for Tournament games. A web version with hyperlinks is also available.

03/22/2004: THE LORD OF THE RINGS TMG RECEIVES AN AWARD!

Sabertooth Games received the Inquest Fan Award for Best Miniatures Product for their Lord of the Rings Tradeable Miniature Game. A well deserved award!

3/22/2004: ELVISH DICE! (updated 04/07/2004, picture by Guillaume Voignier)

You'll find in each booster of the "Fellowship" expansion a green die with the Leaf of Lorien symbol. This is a welcome balance after the red Sauron Eye dice of the base set.

Note also that Games Workshop is selling dark blue Gondor dice with the White Tree symbol. About one year ago they also released black Isengard dice with the White Hand of Saruman and green Rohan dice with a horse symbol.

  3/18/2004: NEW SCENARIOS!

Four Scenarios by Daniel Burkley

 - The Fight in Balin's Tomb
The doors have been smashed, the first wave of Goblins is rushing through... Will the Fellowship survive?

 - Boromir's Last Stand (Skirmish at Amon Hen)
Will Saruman's forces capture the Hobbits?

 - Attack on the Gate at Helm's Deep
Will the Alliance of Men and Elves prevent Saruman's forces from destroying the Gate?

 - Weathertop
Will Aragorn be able to keep Frodo safe from the Nazguls?

The Scenarios are available in the Download section.

2/20/2004: THE MAP SET IS OUT!

A large 4x1 map can be made using 2 map sets.

  02/20/2004: A SMALL REVOLUTION!

Starting with the Troll pack we won't talk about "Sliders" anymore. Here come the "Wheels"! The Wound Wheel is colored, so we will still have Orange, Red, Purple and other versions of our Lord of the Rings Heroes & Minions. The Action Wheel is white.

But why such a change? One major reason is that the sliders where preventing some sculpts from being made. Now there will be more flexibility, including in placement and facing of figures on their bases. Another reason: the Sliders were far from being perfect for Heroes having 7 or more Wounds or Action Points. Now, we are told, each Wheel will easily display up to 9 points.

The base is beveled in such a way that Wheels should not be a problem in tight combat chains. Nevertheless Sabertooth is considering for future map packs a slight enlargement of hexes.

Quite important: from a gaming point of view this is only a cosmetic change. The game itself is not affected.

02/10/2004: SABERTOOTH DISPLAYING FUTURE RELEASES (updated 03/17/2004, pictures from GAMA)

Sabertooth displayed some of the models to be introduced in the coming months at some Game Shows in the US and Europe. We start to get feedback from the fans that got a chance to look at them, and this feedback is very positive!

The Cave Troll is beautiful (much better that you would expect by looking at the picture from the Sabertooth Web Site). The 3 bronze slider models included in the Troll Pack (Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli) new versions of these Heroes with for example an Aragorn swirling his sword with 2 hands and a Gimli with an ax in each hand.

We'll get "Spectral" versions of the Ringwraiths with a superb Witch-King. There are also Nazguls mounted on horses (for the first or the second expansion?).

Orcs and Elves are getting new sculpts. Haldir is excellent. Galadriel will be in the first expansion.

Overall it seems that the models from the expansion are even better than the ones from the base set.

Last but not least Sauron made quite an impression!

Better than any description: pictures from GAMA as seen on Gaming Report web site.

In addition to the mounted Nazgul and Saruman we can recognize a spectral Ringwraith

Saruman with Gandalf's staff

A mounted Nazgul

A Cave Troll, not painted

Cave Troll. We can see also Gimli

Sauron, not painted and Galadriel?

02/04/2004: NEW TOURNAMENT RULES (version 2.4)

Tournament Rules 2.4 are available in the Download section. They contain clarifications that are useful for home games and mandatory for Tournament games. A web version with hyperlinks is also available.

1/30/2004: NEW MAPS (updated 02/13/2004, Dead Marsh)

Mirkwood Forest! Dead Marsh! New Maps designed by Mo are available in the Download section.

  1/25/2004: 3D TERRAIN AND TROLL

Guillaume Voignier has added some 3D Terrain features to the Starter maps. He couldn't wait for the Troll to be released, so he made his own! Pictures are available in the Gallery section.

01/14/2003: SABERTOOTH LAUNCHED THE TWO TOWERS PLAYTESTING PROGRAM (updated 03/13/2004, end of tests)

Sabertooth's Captain Miller has announced the launching of a test program for the second expansion of the game.

This test focuses on Cavalry and introduces new Special Abilities like Cavalry, Battle Savvy, Deadly Aim, Rally Cry and Repel.

Participants will be able to win credits and rewards. Another opportunity to shape the future of your favorite game! Check the details here: Welcome to the Two Towers Playtest cycle!

This playtesting phase ended on March 13th. Now we have to wait until the end of the year to see this expansion in stores. In the meantime we'll have the first expansion (The Fellowship).

1/12/2004: THE END OF THE BODYGUARD CONTROVERSY!

Bodyguard is the only design point that created a controversy with the first release of the game. After much heated debate and playtesting Chief Designer Captain Miller has altered the initial definition of Bodyguard. In essence now a Bodyguard will be able to protect only one adjacent Hero. It is still a strong ability but a much more reasonable and more logical one.

Another good example of the way Sabertooth is taking into account players feedback.

The new rule is applicable starting February 1st.

12/30/2003: FIRST LOOK AT ONE OF SABERTOOTH'S NEW MAPS (updated 01/13/2004)

It seems to be the map of a walled village.

The Map Kit has been delayed to first half of February.

12/16/2003: ALL THE PROMOS! (updated 07/07/2004, new redemption)

Scrye has published a complete list of figure stats including 30 Promos. We have the confirmation now that only 28 will be available as tie in with the Base Set.

It seems that the Scrye list is not completely accurate. For example Eowyn is listed as PR30 (she has been released for the European launch at Essen as PR28). Ugluk is listed as PR29 (he has been released as part of Sabertooth Redemption Program as PR28).

There was also some uncertainty regarding PR20 (Frodo and Smeagle). According to Combat Carl from Sabertooth there is no such thing as a Frodo and Smeagle model. It is now confirmed that this model is cancelled due to production problems. The PR20 will probably be used for a Promo derived from the 1st expansion of the Game.

PR30 is also cancelled.

Tournament winners are winning Promo figures. Like Legolas (PR27) and Lurtz (PR5) initially. For a brief period of time another Legolas (PR26) was wrongly substituted to PR27. Season 2 prizes were Arwen (PR17) and Nazgul (PR7). Since April 1st the new Season 3 prizes are Gandalf (PR23) and Saruman (PR9).

Tournament participants are winning new Promo Minions: initially a Goblin Archer (PR1) or a Lothlorien Elf (PR14). Season 2 participation figures are an Orc Spearman (PR2) and Guard of the Fountain Court (PR12). Season 3 participation figures are an Uruk-hai Warrior  (PR3) and a Rohirrim Royal Guard (PR13).

Some Promos were given by Sabertooth to specific retail outlets and players who were hit hard with the case distribution bug. It is the case for at least the following: Nazgul (PR7), Saruman (PR9), Witch King (PR10), Gimli (PR25). As expected these models released as compensations have been or will be available later officially and in larger quantities. It is already the case with Nazgul (PR7) and Saruman (PR10). Gimli (PR25) was offered as a promotion to some US stores buying cases of the game. Witch King (PR10) will be released in the future as a mail-in offer in Scrye #72!

2000 Aragorn (PR15) were available in Toronto (Canada) as part of a "Return of the King Package" for $20 that includes: 1 ticket, 1 pop, 1 popcorn and one free promo of Aragorn". Toronto was granted this special treatment for being the city most supportive of the Lord of the Rings movies. More than 60% of the population went to see the first two movies.

Sabertooth Games handed out Frodo figures (PR19) at select cities throughout North America at the Line Parties for RotK!

A Gondorian Warrior Promo (PR11) has been offered at GenCon SoCal (South California).

Redemption Program Promos: initially the Ringwraith (PR8) and  Ugluk (PR28). Eowyn (PR29) has been then added to the Program. Now both the Ringwraith (PR8) and Eowyn (PR29) are out of print. The Gondorian Warrior (PR11) has been added.

As a promotion for the launch of Sabertooth on line order system the 30 first orders received a Frodo (PR19), others received an Aragorn (PR15).

PR5 Lurtz and PR27 Aragorn are now available as part of the Redemption Program.

So here is the latest status on Promos.

The most original promo happens to be a "misprint" a set of PR12 Guard of the Fountain Court with a Moria Goblin figure. As suggested by Sabertooth to the owner: he may decide to either return the misprints or have the Goblins guard the Fountain Court ! J

  11/04/2003: PROMO FIGURES

The first promo figures have been released.

The very first one is the Ringwraith (PR8). The sneaky Ringwraith was out before the release of LotR TMG and used to promote the Game in Conventions like GenCon. He is now also available through the redemption program.

The third is Gandalf (PR22), available through an exclusive offer enclosed in issue #66 of Scrye Magazine.

The next Promo Figure should be Gimli (PR25) available through an exclusive offer enclosed in issue #3 of Undefeated Magazine.

The second promo figure is Eowyn (PR29) released at the same time as the Game and used for example at the European Launch in Essen.

The fourth is Ugluk (PR28) available through Sabertooth's Redemption Program.

11/03/2003: FUTURE GAME RELEASES (updated on 02/09/2004)

The first expansion of 80 models is planned for May  2004. We should have a Gimili with 2 axes but we will have to wait longer to get Gandalf the White.

To keep us waiting Sabertooth is going to release in February 2004 a Map Kit with 2 Maps of the same size as the Starter Map. The 4 sides all fit together to produce a large map using 2 kits. Additional Maps will be released in May 2004.

Another Release is raising a lot of expectation. A Troll Pack is due in March 2004. It will be a Cave Troll with a Hammer. Cave Trolls are non-unique Minions with a cost around 350 points and their own Special Ability (Regeneration?). Considering the size of regular figures (about 40mm) we expect theses Trolls to be massive as they will occupy 4 Hexes! The Troll will be in a pack with 3 Heroes (Aragorn, Gimli & Legolas promo versions using future sculpts of the figures) and probably a mini-scenario. The Hammer Cave Troll has Special Abilities including the new Regeneration. The other Troll, the Troll with Lance is delayed for production problems... In Mai  2004 Sauron will also be released in a Pack, he also occupies 4 hexes and is worth 2000 points!

The second expansion to be released in October 2004 will feature Riders (Rohan Riders, Orcs riding Wargs and even Ringwraiths (on fell beasts?)).

Around the time of the second expansion release we should expect Ents with at least a Pack including Treebeard.
